Earth-2.

We have finally found a near earth-size/mass planet. It is Kepler - 186f which revolves around an M size dwarf star 490 light years from our Sun. It lives in the "goldilocks" zone of its earth star and if it has the right kind of atmosphere (that is not yet know) it can have water in the liquid state which means if oxygen is present in the atmosphere it could support our type of life, maybe, maybe.....

That is the good news. Here is the bad news. Since the planet is roughly 500 light years from here, with current propulsion systems it would take 5 million years to get from Here to There. Consider that our race has been on Earth only 250,000 years (give or take) that is 20 times longer than we have existed on our planet (approximately), so do not make any serious plans about moving there anytime soon.

For some reason I am reminded of a song I once heard
"All in a dream, all in a dream

the loading had begun,

sending mother nature's silver seed

to its new home in the Sun"

Calling Zefram Cochrane !

Warp Drive is fiction.

Alcubre's theories are yet to be tested.

Giordano Bruno was right to teach that the Copernican theory was correct and that the universe is inhabited by many worlds. He did not deserve to be burned at the stake for heresy and the Roman Catholic Church brought shame on itself for its intolerance of dissenters. As I understand it the Inquisition existed for centuries and the world is not yet free of such inhumanity.

Even if Bruno wear dead wrong, the master of the Church had no right to kill him.

There is the Church. First it burns scholars who have alternative views then it turns the Church buildings into chambers of sodomy.

That is some track record. Has the Church ever done anything good?

That would depend on your definition of the "good" is.

Would feeding the poor and starving count? It would for myself.
