Holy crap he's back! Everyone look busy!

I'm glad to hear that it did well. The theater I went to in Duluth, Georgia was packed. They had been selling out all their showings the first weekend.

I liked the movie quite a bit, I guess I mostly like it just because it exists. It's finally been made and it didn't suck. My wife loved it, she loved it so much she wants to read the book. She really connected with the character of Dagny. I liked Dagny and Hank, I think they were really strong characters and very well acted. I didn't like Eddie Willers at all. I thought his character was too minor and he was always just running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. I didn't like that the viewers who may not be familiar with the book aren't going to truly understand Dagny and Fransisco's history and the importance of Fransisco to the scope of the story. I ditto the poster who said he didn't like John Galt's cameos through out the movie. I also didn't like Galt's corny lines especially when he told Midas Mulligan (don't quote me on that) that he was "cultivating a society based on individual rights,) or something like that. I mean if someone just walked up on me in the middle of the night in a trench coat and hat, using a Batman voice to tell me about this society he's building I'd just look at him like he's crazy, not join him. Overall though I liked the movie. The acting was a lot better than I had expected and for a 10 million dollar budget it was well done.

The Fransisco actor did an okay job. I however didn't like Fransisco's whole (very limited role) in the movie. In the book he's maybe my favorite character, in the movie who really never get to understand him and his significance.

I would say that whether or not tax cuts "work" to stimulate the economy is a secondary concern. The fact is that the money a company or individual is theirs and they should get to keep as much of the fruit of their labor as possible. I don't think America's ready for a voluntarily funded government yet but right now we should (in my humble opinion) be focusing on our energy on cutting taxes and cutting spending big time.

I work in private corrections, CCA to be exact. I have worked for the State of Georgia in the Corrections system as well. The pay is lower, and the hours are longer working for the state so I began working for CCA about 8 months ago. I didn't grow up dreaming of working corrections, but it was the best option at the time and I like it for the most part so I plan on staying in for the foreseeable future. However I have dreams of owning my own business eventually. I have seen the movie, I saw it on the 16th. I took my wife (who had never read the book)to see it with me and she liked it so much that she's reading it now. Or at least attempting to fit a 1200 page book into her busy life.

Hello all individualists/Objectivists/capitalists/libertarians/etc, I'm new to the forums. My name is Johnny, I'm 23, married, and I live in north Georgia. I was first introduced to Ayn Rand and Objectivism when I was 16 and I read Atlas Shrugged. I was too young to fully grasp the whole philosophical foundation and premise of Objectivism but I knew that I respected individual rights and was in favor of limited and small government. I have read AS two times, and am currently going through it for the 3rd time. I have also read some of Ayn Rand's non-fiction as well such as Capitalism:The Unknown Ideal. I consider myself an atheist in terms of religion. If someone asks I label myself a "libertarian" or a "capitalist" because those terms are more widely understood. I look forward to learning and discussing with all of you.
