Michael Stuart Kelly
This is gonna be fun! That actually makes me sleep better at night. That and the book Peter Schweizer is now writing on the money and power trails surrounding Jeb Bush. See here for example. Just in case anyone can't place the name off the top of their head, Peter Schweizer wrote Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich. Brant Gaede
Like those old cars. Post WWII there was a real ugly transition in big three car design and around 1949-1950 they started to get it right. The real breakthrough in modern car design didn't hit until the '55 and '56 GM Chevy two door hardtop and convertible and the 1957 Ford two door hardtop--not the over-valued '57 Chevy (to this day). The '57 Chevy convertible was the cat's ass, however. Then Chev went real bad in 1958 and the Ford in 1959. Stylistically, the '58 Ford turned out to be inferior to the aforementioned '57 Ford. Chysler had some nice designs. In the 1950s car design went ape-shit great only to peter out by the mid-1970s. The 1961 Cad. convertible was incredible to me back then. And those Lincolns and GTOs--etc.My dentist, back East, in the early 1950s raised and sold lab mice and had enough money from that to buy a '53 or '54 Chevy convertible. For cash. Problem was, he was too young to drive it!--Brant
Brant Gaede
I don't think Hillary has the fire to be President. Seeking it is lifetime political momentum with her frequently simply going through the motions. It's not about ideas and policies, it's only about her, her and her. I don't think the Clintons, especially Bill, need any more White House lives built on lies, lies and more lies. That doesn't mean she won't be elected. The Republicans cannot win on social issues. The three biggies are the economy, then foreign policy, then social issues. Reverse the emphasis and you lose. The disparity in emphasis needs to be exponential respecting the last. The third is the biggie you cannot exploit and if you try it will bite you in your Republican ass.And who needs another Bush? Go home, Jeb, go home. Your father was (barely) enough and your brother way too much.--Brant

We believe you deserve better than that. We think our elected officials should have one set of principles, not one for each set of special interests they represent.Political commentator Michael Kinsley once said that the definition of a gaffe is when you catch a politician telling the truth. Brant Gaede
Voters value lying. So, many liars get elected. The surprise would be to elect a liar who then stopped lying. He wouldn't be re-elected for honesty is painful to hoi polloi that doesn't want the self responsibility needed to survive without government distributed largess. The latest largess is Los Angeles raising the minimum wage. The destruction of businesses and the contraction of employment merely continues current trends of creating more dependency on subsidies for an expanding pool of recipients. Problem. Government adopts the problem. Government makes the problem worse. Good for government, but bad for the citizenry generally and for most individually even if they are hard to notice that for the convenient scapegoading/scapegoating of the fat cats. Someday the great mentally and morally and uncritically thinking unwashed will understand--someday--that the real fat cats are any cats drawing government salaries and civil service pensions. The frogs, however, will be too cooked to escape the pot.--Brant (crawling out, but don't ask me why, how or what)many already are
