Selene
Philosophy Referee Hand SignalsPosted: 15 Aug 2014 10:54 PM PDTThe next time you’re presiding over an intense philosophical debate, feel free to use these hand signals to referee things. Devised by philosophy prof Landon Schurtz, these hand signals were jokingly meant to be used at APA (American Philosophy Association) conferences. Personally, I think they would have made a great addition to the famous Monty Python soccer match where the Germans (Kant, Nietzsche & Marx) played the indomitable Ancient Greeks (Aristotle, Plato & Archimedes). Imagine Confucius, the referee, whirling his hand in a circle and penalizing Wittgenstein for making a circular argument. Priceless.Related Content:The Monty Python Philosophy Football Match: The Greeks v. the GermansMonty Python Sings “The Philosopher’s Song,” Revealing the Drinking Habits of Great European ThinkersThe Modern-Day Philosophers Podcast: Where Comedians Like Carl Reiner & Artie Lange Discuss Schopenhauer & MaimonidesDownload 100 Free Philosophy Courses and Start Living the Examined LifePhilosophy Referee Hand Signals is a post from: Open Culture. Selene
This is a really tough one to call.I am calling Seattle, obviously, with +2 which was the best that locked in for me.Score 24 to 21 which is also under the over/underNot sure what a route would look like - 2 of the greatest coachs - Belichick possibly the best ever.Brady is great - 6 times in 11 or 12 years...Wilson - phenomenal leader and just gets it done.Could be one of the greatest Super Bowls...A... Selene
Great game. However, that last call at the goal line with 00:30 seconds left will go down as the Edsel call of Super Bowl history. It was Lynch off tackle left again on second down. I believe they had one time out left, if not you spike and then have a 4th and goal and again it would be Lynch right because if you cannot score with him in three or four cracks, you do not deserve to win.If for some stupid reason that you would think about putting the ball in the air, it would have to be an outside route where you could just throw the ball out of bounds high.Worst call in Super Bowl history.A... Brant Gaede
What? One yard? I was sitting on my ass not waiting for a pass thought they were gonna punch it in!--Brantwon the game, lost the spread--too much weight on deflategateit's interesting when Green Bay decided to go for the field goal on its first scoring drive two weeks ago, I thought WTF?--if not for that GB might be the Super Bowl winner today--uh, maybe
