That's (in part) what I love about America.In high school, our AP US History teacher was an unreconstructed liberal of the progressive school. He was a challenge. One thing he taught me was that for Americans the future always promised something better. We did not invest in perfection like Europeans because we were going to tear it down and build all over again. See here(1)"Sands of Time" from Kismet - the Traditional view and (2) "Tobacco Road" by the Nashville Teens and (3) "Tomorrow" from Annie - the American view.
