Dragonfly
But we do already have a science-mathematics forum that is hardly used, so why split it up further?

Michael Stuart Kelly
Sorry I did not respond, but I was waiting to see if the Science and Math forum would be noticed. This is a problem with the kind of forum layout here. It can get so cluttered people can't find anything.Michael

syrakusos
(NOTE FROM MSK: Quoted spam content removed.)Do we need a Gaming Forum? Aside from Monopoly, are there any good games for Objectivists? Civlization and SimCity are classics. Some Objectivists complain about taxes and I am not a fan of warfare. But, the fact remains that these are pretty close to real life and you have to make do with the hand you are dealt. So, it might be fun.The problem for me is that after a couple of years and Moria and Rogue -- the family that plays together stays together; Mom, Dad, and Missy all at their computers whacking orcs and ignoring each other, but at least under the same roof at the same time -- I realized that I was in someone else's universe. Someone else set the terms, made the rules. We tried the D and D board game. When I wrote about "Operation Sundevil" I read Steve Jackson's GURPS formats. Still and all, if you are going to put that much effort into something, you might as well make potholders and sell them in the neighborhood. I mean, you might as well find a real business and pursue that.I guess that goes for being online, too...(bye)

And I am cognizant of your burden problem. My wife works in information security for the University of Michigan Flint campus. Their little satellite has 15-20,000 active people over the course of a year. They get 2 to 4 million emails each week, over 99% of which are killed automatically as spam. As the webmaster for the Michigan State Numismatic Society, I am looking at message board software and toward that, working with an existing numismatic forum. They have the same problem in proportion. But I thought it was kind of interesting.
