DennisA very interesting article. Basing the origin of RNA and DNA on some optimization principle is very rememiscent of basing mechanic on a lest action or stationary action principle. Game theory has some very important implications in biology. Not that survival is a "game" (In the sense of amusement) but that game theory has significant implications. Both game theory and solving for stationary actions are a way of bringing teleology into a physical science without being crazy.Ba'al Chatzaf
