Atlas Shrugged Producer John Aglialoro on Ayn Rand's Enduring Impact

Not even a half-assed sniper rifle. 400 yards is nothing except for that rifle. I can't see the military utillity in bi-poding that weapon and adding the extra weight. Not saying there isn't; my knowledge is old. A bipod without a scope and that worthless crap on the front is for the M-14 firing full auto in short bursts in the mid-range distances depicted. That was the replacement for the BAR (Browning AutoMatic) rifle which was too cumbersome and complicated. The BAR was actually replaced by the belt-fed M-16 machine gun, not being a rational choice for 1960s' Vietnam combat.
