One Ugly Face of the USA Middle-East Bigotry Problem

I caught this on TheBlaze here: First, He Waves Islamic State Flag on Berkeley Campus. Then, He Switches to an Israel Flag. Watch and Compare the Reactions.

And this is the video in the article. It could have been edited to not represent what really happened by leaving out interactions that are inconvenient to the video's message, but from what I have seen over the years, it looks pretty accurate.

A guy waved an ISIS flag on the University of California-Berkeley campus shouting support for ISIS and bashing the USA. The reaction? Cool, dude, right on...

Then he started waving an Israeli flag and shouting against Hamas. And it started...

As cynical as I am, that is astounding.

If this is really the philosophy and level of understanding of America's best students, then mankind is doomed. And it deserves to be.

Mankind has always been doomed and probably deserves to be, by your reckoning?

All living creatures, human beings, and the Holy Individual tend to ascend. But this improvement always seems to be a matter of "two steps forward, one step back, two steps forward, one..."

Progress is the result of the activities of the intellectual and moral elite -- not the masses. The massman seems to be permanently ignorant and depraved: a kind of low animal usually given over to the lowest common denominator. By themselves they seem doomed, and like they deserve this fate.

Bigotry isn't good but I know I don't like Muslims. I don't want to be around them. It seems prudent to avoid them. We have exiled Persians living in a community near me and I am leery of them too with their head scarves. I must say, the young Arab looking guy who works at the Subway is a decent sort. I tip him well.

Sounds like Jonathan Gruber without the PowerPoints, and about as credible.

Regardless of your feelings, be polite.

Philosophy and powerful thinkers rule the world. And people shouldn't worship or serve the gods or masses.

How do we falsify this proposition? If it can't be falsified all we can say is the world rules the world--reality rules reality.

They think they can talk to a Jew and belittle Jews and Israel, not to a group that beheads people and broadcasts the beheading. Cowardice? The ellitest leaders of the Democratic party do that to Americans generally. They metaphorically behead them as "stupid." When Americans turn on them and beat the shit out of them they'll shut up, even the mainstream media assholes. The danger to one and all is it devolves into right wing fascism smashing left wing fascism.

Philosophy and powerful thinkers rule the world.

Greed, fear and the urge to merge rule the world.

--Brant

my asseveration is as such as valid as yours and maybe even more defensible

Kyrel is right, and so was Ayn Rand. Philosophy and powerful thinkers do rule the world. Greed and fear is nothing, other than something to be guided by philosophy.

I was critiquing a mere asseveration with my own mere asseveration. Now you are doubling down for the other fellow. Shall I repeat myself too?

I'm looking for a reasoned, factual argument. Go ahead--go for it. Produce one. Quote one. Repeat one. (There must be one in The Ominous Parallels, right?)

then, after I, et al., see and understand your reasoned light, we can get back to the Muslims and terrorism and how to fight their philosophy (plus terrorism) with ours and our "powerful thinkers" (who are ours and who are theirs?)

Brant,

For now, what this guy says about Islam is not getting through.

I might be wrong with this approach and maybe should ban him outright, but I'm giving it a shot.

When it's about Islam, he will not be participating. When it's about other issues, if he posts, he will (unless he starts manipulating, in which case, those posts will not come through, either).
