Selene
The absolute joy in her face, eyes and hands only a DNA dance, or, a God could produce this wondrous human being. http://youtu.be/_DP1JgeTraI Anyone that wants to tell me that Ayn at 5, 6, 7 years old did not know what she would be? Behold this wondrous human being. Played the violin at two (2). Oh, by the way, did I mention that she also composes her pieces and she draws - the drawing on her cd cover is her creation:

jts
Many years ago I read a book titled "Psychology in Chess" and it included a discussion of the relationship between how young you start and how good you get. There is statistical evidence that starting at a young age like 4 or 5 or 6 is a major advantage over starting at 8 or 10 or 12. Obviously more time to learn is an advantage but 10 years starting at age 4 seems to be better than 10 years starting at age 12. Modern chess is so competitive that now you are supposed to start not later than age 6 and you are supposed to be a grandmaster at 12 or 13 or 14, and then maybe you have a chance of becoming world champion. Hou Yifan started at the age of 3. There doesn't seem to be any reason to think chess is unique in this way. Why not also music and math and everything else? Perhaps what we call genius is largely a matter of how young they start. It is like learning a language. How many adults could go to a foreign country and pick up a language like a baby does? People who learn chess or math or music late in life maybe learn it like an adult learns a foreign language, usually requiring special motivation and effort and often imperfectly with an accent. Valentina Lista, classical pianist from the Russian school This is one of my favorite videos of her, playing on a Pleyel that has haunting, yet enchanting sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGGzqJdcAxo Yuja Wang, classical pianist from China.
