That is no way to dis our Elected God King

Obama already disses himself.

He's the result of a feminized liberal nature residing within a male who failed to become a man.

Greg

Yeah, we need a real man in the White House. Take G.W. Bush. He was a real man who got the U.S. embroiled in a needless war in Iraq that cost thousands of American lives and only made things worse. Now there was a real man.

Maybe the next Real Man President will have us fighting the Russians in the Ukraine or thereabouts. What could possibly go wrong with that macho plan?

George Bush is a real man. And if he were President now, he would have kept troops stationed in Iraq just like the US did in South Korea, Japan, and Germany... and ISIS would NOT be the threat it is today.

Instead a weak cowardly feminized liberal pussy is President, who withdrew the US military from Iraq in defeat, which gave ISIS a golden opportunity to flourish. Obama is the one who only made things worse... far worse.

Greg.

now, about Woodrow Wilson . . .

this is the "Humor" thread :angry::smile::tongue:

Spoken like a true Real Man Neocon. By all means let's sacrifice even more young American lives by embroiling ourselves in a violent religious conflict that has been raging for centuries -- so long as the life at risk is not yours. What does common sense matter so long as we get to kick some foreign butt?

Why yes, thank you, George.

I consider that a compliment.

...because American Conservative Capitalism is a masculine individualist ideology, while European Liberal Socialism is a feminine collective ideology.

Feminized leftists make crappy foreign policy leaders because America's enemies can smell the stench of their weakness from thousands of miles away, and are eager to take advantage of it... just like ISIS has already been doing.

Obama just threw away all of the gains the US soldiers died for, as ISIS takes back those hard won cities, towns, and villages.

so long as the life at risk is not yours

Shove it, George.

The risk was mine.

I'm a VFW.

Moralist,

If you want to feel butch, download a John Wayne movie. Not Seven Sinners, though, because Marlene Dietrich is in it and everybody at Netflix will think you're a fag.

Me too. Look at 56,000 Vietnam dead--for what?

Thank you, LBJ, you girly man!

there's a moral problem for sure in sending conscripts (slaves) to fight your wars

The Iraqi American war dead died for the same thing whatever Obama has done. The nature of interminable war is it inevitably ends with the stronger party getting shafted to whatever extent. The stronger party only wins by kicking ass and getting out ASAP for the only good reason to go to war is to kick ass fast. How much better in WWI if Germany had rolled right across France and a truce was signed. All Germany would have done then was withdraw. Instead tens of millions (and empires) died--for the world today which it made.

American conservatism is merely a variant of statism. (Traditional European conservatism differs somewhat, but its concern for freedom and peace is probably too girly for you.) Traditional American individualism of the classical liberal variety was typically anti-war.

Given that you are a Vet, I cannot fathom why you want to see the lives of more American soldiers thrown away in yet another futile crusade in the Middle East. What a waste. G.W. Bush already sacrificed around 4000 U.S. soldiers for no purpose, other than to create a power vacuum that is now being exploited by ISIS. And the U.S., over a period of years, supposedly trained Iraqi soldiers who could defend their own country, but who later ran like rabbits when confronted with a far inferior force.

The mess in Iraq and Syria is not worth the life of one American soldier.

It might be that Greg wasn't in actual combat. This would not denigrate his military service, but would give him a somewhat different perspective than mine.

I agree with your last sentence if the object of anything done there would be to restore what Bush created. This doesn't mean there's no case for running in there and kicking some ISIS ass and then getting right out. That's not for what we are talking about here, however. I just started another thread on that: "How to Fight Islam" reflecting what I consider to be a rational Objectivist* as opposed to a NeoCon or imagined classical libertarian approach.

*Rand had not much to say on foreign policy and what she did say tended not to be all that good: economic blockade of Cuba (and the regime collapses), a "just" war with the Soviet Union (liked), Israel first (regardless)--all three countries that did not exist in Atlas Shrugged which was the end result of a Russian sleigh ride

The only slam bang effective way of fighting Islam is genocide and Americans do not have the balls to do it. Not any more. Back in the nineteenth century there was attempted genocide and the Plain's tribes but we did not have the technology. Americans would have done if they had the means. Now that we have the means we no longer have the will.

Yeah, too bad Americans don't have the balls to exterminate nearly a quarter of the world's population, or around 1.6 billion people. After relegating Hitler and Stalin to minor footnotes in the history of mass murder, we could then preach the importance of individual rights.

I think Ba'al only wants to kill 10 or 20 million. I say mass sterilization. If they have no kids, there goes Islam (with the Shakers). Maybe we could slip something into their drinking water.

(Follow up to the previous post where I should have quoted George for the carry over)

The only people even closely embracing the Lockean tradition of the Founding Fathers seem to be the libertarians. OL isn't a libertarian site as much as a default to the conservative Objectivist site with Ba'al as the default kill 'em all guy. Strikes me as gravity having its way over mental entropy.

Unfortunately the FFs began to slip when they got actual power, especially "The Father of the Country" who eschewed being King for being an elected king. It's been kings of one sort or another ever since. The only real FF was Hamilton and his genius for government financing. The others got taken for a ride on the Republic (we kept it). It's not just a museum open to the public in Philadelphia. It's that monstrosity in Washington with tentacles reaching out everywhere. No wonder libertarians seem to love science fiction and the idea of space flight--to get away from that crap!

George,

I agree with this with one caveat.

When you get someone really mad at you and you both are staring at each other, it's not enough for the pissed-off guy to say you can turn around and walk away and he won't do anything. He most likely will.

I don't know what has to be done to ensure ISIS (or ISIS replacements) doesn't happen to be--or grow into--a real threat to the USA, but that is my only concern. I see a mess from the policies of our fearless leaders that needs to be cleaned up to avoid a bigger inevitable mess that will harm us if left alone.

Once the threat is neutralized or, at least, brought down to the "unlikely to happen" category, I feel for the people over there, but I agree with you. American soldiers are worth way more than that. Each of those lives is priceless.

We never should have been over there in the first place.

Michael

Ali Sina (ex-Muslim who devotes his life to beating Islam) has a better way. Read the whole thing to the end.

http://www.faithfreedom.org/oped/sina60523.htm

Quote:

I promise that if we continue this campaign of discrediting Islam and Muslim scholars, in no more than a quarter of century, Islam will be defeated. Islam will fall, like communism fell. Mark my words today, even if you think I am nuts. If we all work together, especially the ex-Muslims, we can get rid of Islam sooner than anyone can imagine. Iran is already anti Islamic. More than half of Iranians do not call themselves Muslims anymore.

We are demolishing Islam from its foundation. The edifice seems to be intact. But don't let appearances deceive you. This high tower of lies will come down at once.

Someone challenged him on that and Ali Sina responds.
