Backlighting
My uncle had this beauty ...Notice how clean the parking lot is ...pre fast food? http://www.portholeauthority.com/thunderbirdETC/tbird/colors57.htmlSome really nice pictures in there.Nice.Here's me with my first auto, a brand new '66 GTO 4 speed stick, 3 deuces. If I look angry it's because I realized I was about to enter the Army, via the draft. I had to sell the car. Click the thumbnail for a larger view. Brant Gaede
My first choice of a desirable classic car is a mid-60s GTO coup, red with a black interior. Someone I knew slightly in the army had one--he was a Dodge heir so he could afford it--went to Vietnam and in Oct. 1966 was blown out of his jeep by a Claymore-type mine and killed. RIP, Edward M. McIlvain.--BrantI was almost killed in November (not wounded) and his army friend in December (wounded)--we could all three be gonehttp://www.vvmf.org/Wall-of-Faces/36823/Edward-M-MCILVAIN-III

Backlighting
This was mine - no air scoop - that blue with with striping...gorgeous car... Shortly after I bought the GTO I took it a few times to run it at a 1/4 mile Long Island drag strip. I was entered in B stock which meant I would be racing against other GTOs with the same engine, 442s also with 3 deuces under the hood and comparable Chevelle's. Now that was an adrenalin rush...sitting at the line, nervously watching the red lights change to green, popping the clutch and power shifting thru the gears. Adam, I thought all the 442's had a scooped hood. What year was yours & did it have the 3 2's? The 442's I remember (1966-67) had really nice interior. I believe it cost more than the Goat, which I paid $3200 for.
