Hillary Campaign Conspicuously Emerges

December 7, 2011 RSS Feed Print

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is still alive and today it emerged from the shadows to remind supporters that she "made history" in the 2008 campaign and that mementos from that bid are now for sale.

In an E-mail, the Hillary Clinton for President campaign revived speculation that she is still interested in the Oval Office despite new denials that President Obama is considering replacing Vice President Joe Biden with his secretary of state. [Read Veep Fights: Clinton Vs. Bachmann.]

The E-mail comes as a new Washington Whispers poll finds that Clinton is the runaway favorite of those seeking a third party candidate. In our poll, 39 percent picked Clinton as their choice to head a third party. Mike Huckabee is next at 20 percent and Donald Trump dead last at 12 percent.

Some influential Democrats, however, want her to stick with Obama and get the vice presidency, believing that she will be able to bring back liberal, unions and environmental groups that are disappointed with the president.

While her campaign has in the past dispatched fundraising emails in a bid to finish paying her 2008 campaign debt, the timing of the latest blast raised some eyebrows.[Check out U.S. News Weekly, now available on iPad.]

In it, the Clinton campaign says her story lives on. "In her speech in Denver, Hillary told us, 'You allowed me to become part of your lives. And you became part of mine.' As we all know, campaigns are tough, but having loyal supporters like you helped make Hillary's campaign one that will never be forgotten."

Here is the full fundraising E-mail:

Dear P,

Together, we made history in the last presidential election.

From Hillary's speech at the
Democratic
National
Convention
, to the work and support that each of us brought to the campaign, that story lives on -- in the history books, in our memories, and in the mementos that commemorate that time.

Now, those mementos are disappearing as your fellow supporters claim the last of them.

We only have a few official campaign posters, buttons and t-shirts left. We're running out of the DVDs with Hillary's historic speech at the 2008 Denver convention, the inspiring video that introduced her, and President Clinton's speech -- some of which are signed by President

Clinton himself.

Once these last items are gone, they're gone forever.

Make a contribution today and we'll send you one of the last DVDs with Hillary's and President Clinton's convention speeches.

In her speech in Denver, Hillary told us, 'You allowed me to become part of your lives. And you became part of mine.'

As we all know, campaigns are tough, but having loyal supporters like you helped make Hillary's campaign one that will never be forgotten.

By making a contribution today, you will have your own personal remembrance of the "determination to keep going, often in the face of enormous obstacles" -- one of the last such mementos there will ever be. And all contributions will go to paying the last of the expenses the campaign incurred while making our historic stand.

Contribute today to receive one of the last commemorative campaign DVDs or another one of our last few items.

'You never gave in. You never gave up. And together, we made history.'

Those words are as true today as they were when Hillary first spoke them. I hope you'll reserve your piece of history today.

Thank you again,

Allison

'Draft Hillary' Effort Targets S.C., Nevada

By Suzi Parker

January 12, 2012 RSS Feed Print

The national effort to dump the president in 2012 in exchange for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is turning to South Carolina and Nevada as their best targets to get her on those states' primary ballots.

Up first is a fight with, Mark Hammond, South Carolina's Secretary of State, over a rule banning write-ins on next Saturday's ballots. If that doesn't work, the effort will turn to getting her name in the Nevada caucuses.

[See pictures of Hillary Clinton in Myanmar.]

"We are going to take our fight to write in Hillary Clinton to the South Carolina Secretary of State, and if necessary, to the South Carolina Supreme Court," said Steve Rosinski, creator of the national petition to draft Clinton. "We feel that South Carolina voters must be given a choice in this democratic process. Otherwise, it will be just another case of voter disenfranchisement," he said.

Rosinski is pressuring Hammond to change the rule. He is threatening to sue if Hammond doesn't act.

The write-in plan may not work. The South Carolina Democratic Party's presidential primary occurs during the individual counties' precinct reorganization meetings, and those are skewed to only include Obama. "By attending the precinct reorganization meetings, you are voting for President Barack Obama, since he is the only candidate on our ballot," the state party's website states.

Rosinski has already been rebuffed by the Democratic National Committee and Clinton, who is stepping down after Obama's first term ends.

On his petition, he argues that only Clinton can get elected in the current anti-Obama political climate.

[Check out our editorial cartoons on President Obama.]

In his petition to the DNC, he writes:

We, the undersigned Democrats, want a new Democratic nominee for President who can win in 2012. We are convinced that the only person with the national stature, experience, and high enough
approval
ratings
who can win the general election in November of 2012 is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mr. President, we thank you for your service. However, we must ask you to do the right thing for your Party and your country and step aside, much like Lyndon Baines Johnson did in 1968 when he read the writing on the wall as to his own chances for victory. Renomination is not mandatory, nor is it a right. It is a privilege granted by us, 'We the People.' On faith, the Party and the nation gave you a chance as a newcomer with little experience to lead us out of the wilderness of recession. We must now ask for the keys back to the party and to
the
White
House
.

SHE'S BAAAAACK---------Just when you thought it was safe to consider voting for President again in 2016...

MARTHA RADDATZ, SUBSTITUTE HOST: Hillary back on the campaign trail, the powerhouse round table looks ahead to 2016 and takes on a stunning week in politics. It's all right here this Sunday morning.

ANNOUNCER: From ABC News, This Week with George Stephanopoulos starts now.

Hello again, I'm Martha Raddatz. George is off today. Great to have you with us. I'm here with ABC's Jon Karl and Jeff Zeleny.

And let's show that moment again. There it was yesterday, Hillary Clinton taking the stage, talking about leadership and the state of politics, her first explicitly political event in more than four years.

When you see that moment, Jon Karl, how can you think anything but that she's running?

JON KARL, ABC NEWS CORRESPONDENT: You really can't.

And I'll tell you she may not have told anybody yet that she's running, but those that have supported her, worked for her in the past are 100 percent convinced she's going to do it again.

RADDATZ: It sure looks like it.

PLEASE WAIT AT LEAST ONE (1) HOUR AFTER EATING BEFORE READING - NOW YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD!

Can you imagine these two (2) political Alinsky whores trying to out marxist each other in the Democratic Presidential primaries in 2015!!!!

Will Elizabeth Warren challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination in 2016?

That's what some observers in Washington are wondering, after a profile of the Massachusetts senator published by the New Republic on Sunday ("Hillary's Nightmare?") takes a hard look at the possibility of a Warren run for the White House.

“Yeah, Hillary is running," a former Warren aide told the magazine. “And she’ll probably win. But Elizabeth doesn’t care about winning. She doesn’t care whose turn it is.”

Earlier this year, Warren co-signed a letter with other Senate Democratic women urging the former first lady, senator and secretary of state to run in 2016. But she sidestepped a direct question from the New Republic's Noam Scheiber about the possibility of taking on Clinton in 2016.

“You’ve asked me about the politics,” Warren said. “All I can do is take you back to the principle part of this. ... I know what I am in Washington to do: I’m here to fight for hard-working families.”

Most insiders say Clinton would be an overwhelming favorite against any Democratic primary opponent. One far-too-early poll released in July showed Clinton holds a 48-point lead over Vice President Joe Biden and a 50-point advantage over Warren among Iowa Democrats.

However, former aides say the former Harvard law professor would be undeterred by polls.

Of course she would be undetered by polls...she is a marxist fanatic.

Hillary is a patriot who loves her country completely. Her deep commitment to public service and progressive causes runs through her veins.

At the State Department, she proved to be an outstanding diplomat.

She rolled up her sleeves and went to work repairing relationships with heads of state around the world. From the evolving conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq to the turbulent Arab Spring, Hillary was always a steady hand on the foreign policy rudder.

Did I miss something that she accomplished during her "service" as Secretary of State?

The largest liberal “super PAC” in the country has begun raising money to elect Hillary Rodham Clinton president, formally aligning itself with Mrs. Clinton’s undeclared presidential ambitions more than two years away from the election.

The group, Priorities USA Action, which played a pivotal role in helping re-elect President Obama, also named new directors to steer the organization, appointments that will both cement the group’s pro-Clinton tilt and thrust veterans of Mr. Obama’s political and fund-raising operation into the center of the post-Obama Democratic Party.

Gee, I wonder if they'll be raising millions of dollars of illegal money from undisclosed foreign donors for Hillary like they did for Obama?

"The Obama campaign’s apparent lack of safeguards makes it possible to violate the law.."

Absolutely. They share the same progressive donor lists - they, unlike the moderate, muddling and morally vacant Republicans are not very serious about winning the Presidency.

It's all about the money & the marketing of the candidate and his/ her views to the masses.

A term I learned working as a sales manager for Macys NY yrs ago was AIDA

Get their (customer) Attention

Get their Interest,

Get them to Desire the product

Get them to initiate Action (Sale)

Democraps trumped the Repubs handily with Obama. I give them an A+ for marketing & fund raising.

Now the push will be on for that vermin Hillary.

And there's more!! Despite the author's obviously racist attitude to poor Barry the incredible shrinking president, he makes a great case!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-chapman-obama-reelection,0,622512.column

When Ronald Reagan ran for re-election in 1984, his slogan was "Morning in America." For Barack Obama, it's more like midnight in a coal mine.

His approval rating is at its lowest level ever. His party just lost two House elections — one in a district it had held for 88 consecutive years. He's staked his future on the jobs bill, which most Americans don't think would work.

The vultures are starting to circle. Former White House spokesman Bill Burton said that unless Obama can rally the Democratic base, which is disillusioned with him, "it's going to be impossible for the president to win."

Democratic consultant James Carville had one word of advice for Obama: "Panic."

The ideal candidate would be a figure of stature and ability who can't be blamed for the economy. That person should not be a member of Congress, since it has an even lower approval rating than the president's.

It would also help to be conspicuously associated with prosperity. Given Obama's reputation for being too quick to compromise, a reputation for toughness would be an asset.

As it happens, there is someone at hand who fits this description: Hillary Clinton. Her husband presided over a boom, she's been busy deposing dictators instead of destroying jobs, and she's never been accused of being a pushover.

Amazing how many of these "experts" didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Probably yet another reason not to ride every poltical opinion wave that gets created by the commentariot.

Lol...

I just enjoy politics because it where sausages are made.

Here is the most recent spin...it reminds me of how the left, liberals, socialists, communists and marxists flipped the switch from pro German to kill them to the last man when Japan hit us and we became the ally of the Soviet Stalinist State.

This is the flip the switch that South Carolinian Democrats are in the process of making.

"In South Carolina, Clinton forces try to tap Obama magic"

Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) -- To hear some tell it, the 2008 South Carolina primary clash between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was a few steps away from a full-blown race riot.

"It was unbelievable down here in 2007 and 2008," said Bridget Tripp, a Democratic organizer from Lexington who supported Obama in that year's primary. "Bill Clinton was going through downtown Columbia calling Barack Obama a racist."

As the article notes, it did not get "that bad," however some folks still have a bad taste over:

Hillary Clinton seeming to downplay Martin Luther King Jr.'s role in passing the Civil Rights Act, Bill Clinton's biting characterization of Obama's campaign as "the biggest fairy tale I've ever seen" and a range of remarks from Clinton allies that seemed to belittle Obama's achievements.

Six years on, as Clinton considers a second presidential bid, the battle scars here have largely healed over.

"I love Hillary Clinton," said Clyburn. "She has made a tremendous contribution to the political order in this country. I have three daughters, and two of my three grandchildren are girls. So I am very partial to women who run for office."

It is a long article however, worth the read if you are a political junkie like me.

Emergence of another African-American candidate could hurt Clinton

"She just dominates the whole Democratic Party presidential process," Fowler said.

What might damage Clinton, a range of South Carolina Democrats said, would be the sudden emergence of another African-American candidate in a primary where the percentage of black voters could be as high as 60%.

"Unless there is another Barack Obama out there, I don't see the same thing happening again," said Darrell Jackson, a pastor and longtime state senator who was one of Clinton's leading surrogates in the state in 2008.

For Tripp, now working Ready for Hillary, the prospect of making history by helping elect the country's first woman president has a unique appeal. "There will never be another first black president," she said.

The Democratic registration in S.C. is more than 50% persons of color, African American, black, or, choose your own __________.

That electorate went 80% for O'biwan in 2008 and crushed Hillary's campaign with early momentum for O'biwan and the idea that he could be the first!

Now if Thomas Sowell were to run that would be cool. I Like this gem of his.

If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago, a liberal 30 years ago and a racist today.

Sowell is a fine person.

This is an article from Politico about Hillary and her hatred of the press/media.

When asked why Clinton hasn’t done more to reach out to reporters over the years, one Clinton campaign veteran began to spin several theories. She was too busy, she was too prone to speaking her mind and the like—then abruptly cut to the chase:

“Look, she hates you. Period. That’s never going to change.”

She has "white-hot anger:"

And while the white-hot anger she once felt toward the media has since hardened into a pessimistic resignation (with a dash of self-pity), she’s convinced another campaign would inevitably invite more bruising scrutiny, as her recent comments suggest. Public life “gives you a sense of being kind of dehumanized as part of the experience,” she lamented a few weeks ago to a Portland, Ore., audience. “You really can’t ever feel like you’re just having a normal day.”

Another paragraph explained her bunker attitude:

Clinton has gradually learned how to fake it. But to this day she’s surrounded herself with media conspiracy theorists who remain some of her favorite confidants, urged wealthy allies to bankroll independent organizations tasked with knee-capping reporters perceived as unfriendly, withdrawn into a gilded shell when attacked and rolled her eyes at several generations of aides who suggested she reach out to journalists rather than just disdaining them. Not even being nice to her in print has been a guarantor of access; reporters likely to write positive stories have been screened as ruthlessly as perceived enemies, dismissed as time-sucking sycophants or pretend-friends.

It is a long article and worth the read.

Is Iowa already sick of Hillary Clinton?

By Lee Rood

November 15, 2014 | 3:57pm

DES MOINES, Iowa — If you’re a die-hard Democrat in New York hoping to overcome the disappointment that was Nov. 4, you’re worried.

But here in Iowa, where the first-in-the-nation caucuses are a mere 14 months away, some are breaking into a cold sweat.

Most party leaders here will assure you all conversations about the 2016 presidential nomination still begin and end with Hillary Clinton.

The former first lady and secretary of state is a sentimental favorite. Though she has not formally announced her candidacy, her well-oiled super PAC may be the most deeply rooted ever at this stage in the Hawkeye state.

“I don’t know of any party regulars or activists who are really pushing anyone else,” says Jerry Crawford, who co-chaired Clinton’s 2008 campaign in Iowa and helps lead Ready for Hillary in the state.

Biden [stupidest man to ever occupy the Senate and the Vice Presidency and that takes some doing]

O'Malley [a loser - following in the steps of Spiro "no lo contendere" Agnew]

Sandeers [a 200 year old self admited socialist from Vermont which has 0< electoral votes] and

Warren [a lying progressive who says you didn't build your business!]

Are also mentioned in the article...

Nice field...

If Evita still hates the press/media, that does not mean that she will not run. Unless she gets clobbered again in Iowa (courtesy of Oprah's whirlwind campaign blitz into Iowa to promote Obama - after which the MSM wolves smelled blood and swarmed in to finish her off), she most likely will run. If she does not make a disastrous gaffe in subsequent primaries, and she can keep Bill off Viagra, she'll likely win the Democratic nomination.
