What this section is about

There are several highly intelligent discussions of Objectivism and/or Rand by people who are against it - or at least are highly critical of some aspects.

Usually, the books or articles are loaded with harsh comments against Rand and Objectivism. Most all of them, however, have ideas that need to be addressed. We shall address them here and cut out the acrimony.

The title of this section is play on the name of a book by an ex-Objectivist whom I like very much, Michael Prescott (we correspond at times). Recently, Michael has written several penetrating analyses and criticisms of Objectivism and Rand. After he abandoned the philosophy, he went on to write several best-sellers (dealing with crime, suspense and serial killers). One is called In Dark Places.

It is with a great deal of pleasure that the this section is kicked off by Fred Seddon with his review of Ayn Rand Contra Human Nature by Greg Nyquist. Fred's approach is precisely the kind I seek.

Michael
